Guided Walks

Though the Reserve is small in area, it is home to an incredible number of plant, fungi, and animal species. Through partnerships with local experts in flora and fauna, the Reserve occasionally hosts guided nature walks. These include guided birding tours, where there are potentially over 101 bird species to be spotted. Check our birding list for a full list of species observed in the Reserve.

The forested areas in the valleys and lower reaches of the reserve makes for excellent guided forest walks, and the upper Fynbos reaches for wildflower walks. This promises to be an insightful activity for all as over 360 plant species have been noted.

One can expect highly informative conversations with experts, along with species identifications, explanations of plant interactions and uses, and above all a stroll through nature! This provides visitors with a chance to learn more about the natural heritage which the Reserve protects. Guided walks are advertised on our Facebook and Instagram pages but can be individually arranged on request.

Naturalists of all experience levels are very welcome! For more details on the species found in the reserve, please see the official project and place links on the well-known iNaturalist platform. Visitors are highly encouraged to log their own special sightings on this platform! Contact info@pledgenaturereserve.org to arrange guided walks and group bookings or special events.
