What to see

Visitors can explore the natural vegetation via established trails and pathways. Combined, these trails stretch only five kilometres, and are thus perfect for easy walking and suitable for all ages. The charm of this Reserve lies in its proximity to the town centre.

Just a short walk from Knysna Mall! Besides walking trails there are many other attractions. In the lower reaches of the Reserve are many picnic areas and benches for resting and relaxing placed around three peaceful ponds. This area is relatively flat, and it can be accessed by wheelchair and is suitable for strollers.

Near the entrance is our newly established arboretum, a collection of sixty locally indigenous tree species. A favourite amongst visitors is the viewpoint at the top edge of the Reserve, which rewards one with panoramic views of the Knysna Heads, estuary, and town.
